State Board of Equalization (BOE), Vice Chair Michelle Steel hosted a Small Business Fair at the Cypress Community Center this Thursday. Nearly 200 representatives from local small businesses attended the free event to learn business strategies and important tax related information.
Presenters also included representatives from the Employment Development Department, Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Small Business Development Center and the Small Business Administration. This event included a business exposition with additional assistance from the retired business executives of SCORE, the U.S. Postal Service, Coastline Community College and others.

"Small business is the backbone of America," said Steel, " We want to make sure they meet reporting requirements so they can continue their work free of government abuse." Steel spent the morning mingling with business owners and listening to their concerns.
Steel is planning another Small Business Fair on June 20th in the City of Santa Ana.
