Karen Hanover, CEO of Hanover Productions has been very busy lately producing her new talk show, “Who Am I to Talk” which debuts in first round syndication this fall.  The talk show will feature celebrities and tackle modern day issues facing the lucrative 18-30 crowd.  The show will also air via streaming video.

“TV as we know it, is falling by the wayside” says Hanover.  “Statistics show that from 2008 to 2011, about 2 ½ million people stopped paying for cable television.  For the newer generations, many never even get cable in the first place. Growing up on streaming, the idea of shelling out big bucks for video, something that happens for free on their phones, tablets, and laptops, seems crazy.  Karen Hanover Productions is uniquely poised to ride this wave of change and produce the kinds of programs demanded by the under 30 crowd.”

By the time you’re in your 40′s or 50′s you’ve made most of the big purchases for your lifetime like cars, furniture and appliances, so this demographic is not lucrative for advertisers. The demographic advertisers most covet are the ones will all of their major purchases in front of them, namely the 18-30 demographic, which is precisely the demographic being lost be cable.

With this evolving trend, production and distribution will be stolen from the “Big Boys” who have been slow to react to these changes.  The networks’ best rated and most lucrative shows are the morning shows. But they don’t really produce unique content.  They just read the new in an entertaining way which is what gets them their ratings.

“With live streaming and production, anyone can do what the morning shows do, and do it much better thereby producing more interesting and quality programming while stealing prime advertising from the ‘Big Boys’ in the process” says Hanover.

The next most lucrative shows are the entertainment news and games shows.  Karen Hanover Productions will feature these along with a cooking show called The Gourmaniac, a travel show and even a Saturday morning kids show resembling Wonderama.
