Los Al Dentist Collects Candy for Soldiers

Edward H. Luong is part of the Halloween Candy Buyback, a program in which dentists "buy" candy from kids and donate it to American troops.

If you've got leftover Halloween candy, there's a Los Alamitos dentist who'll happily take it from you.

No, no, he's not a monster.

He's accepting candy donations and then sending them to American soldiers.

Dentist Edward H. Luong will be collecting candy for the troops as part of the Halloween Candy Buy Back

Here's how it works.

  1. Dentists "buy" candy from kids with cash, coupons, toothbrushes, food, services or goods per pound donated.
  2. Dentists send the candy to Operation Gratitude or another military support groups.

Through Nov. 8, you can drop off your candy at Luong's office at 3551 Farquhar Ave, Suite 103 Los Alamitos, CA, 90720.

The offic is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursday 7 p.m. to 4 p.m and closed on Friday.

This is Luong's first year doing the buyback, and they started last Monday.

If you have any questions, you can call Luong's number at 562-596-1655 or email him at edwardhluongdmd@gmail.com.

In lieu of the military this time around, perhaps this dentist should think of sending it so the victims of these ravaged cities on the east coast finally get their happy Halloween when they get to clean up their towns? The sorriest thing to happen in this storm over there was that no kid over there got to see Halloween. They were and are holed up and miserable if they are anywhere in the vicinity. Only the ones who left before the storm hit are not feeling as bad. To lose everything in your home and be present has to be worse in experience than being far away from home, only because you are seeing it right there and then and you can't get away from it. When you are miles away you are distraught, but its different--you feel like you should have been there to salvage some5hing, knowing that you had no control and probably wouldn't have anyhow.

This man has a rare quality, courage. Unlike the fool in office and his minions. If you thinkRead More the Constitution is a joke, you see him as bad. If you want to be spied on by your own government, Snowden is bad. Courage is missing in the states. The military have it but not the majority of our mediocre citizens.
