Shop Smart --- Fruits and Veggies

A diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables promotes health and wellness, as well as decreases the risk of many diseases.  Including these nutritious foods in your diet does not have to break your bank!  There are a few ways that you can get more for your money when shopping for some of the most important staples that should be included in your regime.

Stick with the Seasons: Fruits and veggies that are in season quite often taste better AND are cheaper! Can’t go wrong here!

Purchase Small Amounts More Often: How often do you come home from the store with lots of fruits and veggies only to find them bruised and wilted a few days later? Instead of buying your fruits and veggies in bulk, purchase smaller amounts more often! [Still left with overripe fruits or veggies? Keep It Simple: Do your best to buy your fruits and veggies in their simplest form! Although possibly more convenient, pre-cut and pre-washed fruits and veggies are usually more expensive. Spend just a little bit of extra time washing and cutting your produce yourself!
