The 47th Sunset Beach Art Festival takes place again on Mother's Day weekend, May 10th and 11th. At this community fundraiser you will meet over 150 artisans and craftsmen who exhibit and sell their original art and fin crafts.
Every imaginable specially crafted item will be on display--fine jewelry, art glass, paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, clothing and accessories. In addition, paintings and other graphic creations hang on display and for sale in our Firehouse Art Gallery on 12th street.
The outdoor venue is just steps from the beach and includes the community center, and a half-mile greenbelt where visitors can casually shop and stroll through the craft booths while breathing in the ocean air.

Local bands entertain visitors, locals and volunteers as they enjoy such festival fare as fish tacos, bacon-wrapped hot dogs, shaved ice and other hearty and tasty food. Beer and wine are available, too, in the community center.
A "Kids Zone" on 12th street features activities to delight children of all ages, including a free booth for children to create their own handmade masterpiece for Mom. There is face-painting, chalk art, games and raffles for all ages.

The highlight of the festival is the raffle of a handmade quilt, sewn by members of Las Damas, featuring multiple squares representing Sunset Beach events and landmarks. Get raffle tickets in front of the firehouse community building.
Funds raised at the Art Festival support charities for the mentally ill, homeless families and shelter for at-risk teenagers. They also support the art programs in Los Alamitos and Huntington Beach schools. A portion of the art festival proceeds provides scholarships for local students.
