Yin Yoga is designed to stimulate and strengthen the connective tissues around our joints. Typically poses are held from 3 – 5 minutes each, (similar to restorative), however, Yin Yoga is NOT designed to be free of discomfort. Poses will be uncomfortable – this is part of the beauty of Yin. There is a great sense of expansion and release in the joints when holding a yin yoga pose, and especially when coming out of one. Yin Yoga should NOT be done while healing an injury.
