Update: Big Rig Wreck Chokes NB 405 and WB 22 in Seal Beach

Several lanes of the 405 were shut down for more than an hour due to an accident near Seal Beach Boulevard.

The California Highway Patrol has lifted the Sigalert issued for the northbound San Diego (405) freeway this afternoon in Seal Beach.

As of 3 p.m., the traffic on the freeway was back to normal following a crash involving two big rigs and two cars that had traffic backed up on the 405 and Garden Grove (22) Freeway for several miles.

There were no major injuries, but a disabled big rig blocked the number 3,4, and 5 lanes, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ray Payton. The CHP was able to quickly open up the carpool and fast lanes, but officers had to wait for a heavy-duty tow truck to move the truck from the right several lanes.
