A car veered off the San Gabriel (605) River Freeway today and crashed into a tree, leaving two men hospitalized in critical condition.
The northbound car went off an embankment and crashed off the freeway near Katella Avenue in Los Alamitos just before noon, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Marc Stone said.
There were four people in the car, California Highway Patrol Officer Gabe Montoya said. One man was pinned in the wreckage and had to be cut out. He and another victim were taken to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Stone said.
