Though Skittish at First, This Striking Cat Just Needs a Safe Home to Come Out of Her Shell

White with a back tail, Blanca is sure to catch your eye and then your heart.

Editor’s Note:  The Cat of the Week feature is written and submitted by Gail Bowers, a volunteer at the Seal Beach Animal Care Center where the animals are available for adoption. The shelter is at 1700 Adolfo Lopez Drive, Seal Beach, (562) 430-4993.

Blanca is about 5 years old.  She is a stunning white cat, who has a black tail with a white tip. It looks as if she got another cat's tail and that the tip was dipped into a pail of white paint.

She was abandoned by her family and rescued by a Seal Beach family who fed and cared for her for a while but were not able to keep her. She is a bit frightened and confused by her new surroundings and does not seem to be a big fan of other cats, but she will purr and respond affectionately when approached quietly and gently. Her long hair makes her as soft as a bunny.

She is in need of her own home and would probably do best as an only cat.
