Seal Beach Boulevard Closed at 405 for Emergency Repairs

The rainy night caused large potholes on the Seal Beach Boulevard bridge, forcing its closure for much of the day Saturday.

Crews have closed Seal Beach Boulevard in both directions between Old Ranch Parkway and North Gate Road for emergency repair work. This emergency closure is needed to repair large potholes south of the bridge, caused by the rain overnight. Estimates indicate this work will be completed by approximately 4 p.m.

Old Ranch Parkway and North Gate Road will remain accessible while these repairs are underway. The northbound I-405 Seal Beach Boulevard off-ramp will also remain open, however motorists will be directed to continue north on Seal Beach Boulevard / Los Alamitos Boulevard.

Recommended Detours

  • Use Valley View Street to bypass Seal Beach Boulevard; the westbound SR-22 / 7th Street on-ramp located off Old Ranch Parkway may also be used to avoid Seal Beach Boulevard.
  • Refer to the detour map below for additional alternate routes that may be used to bypass Seal Beach Boulevard.
