Sandy Hook Kids Will Sing At Super Bowl

A chorus of 26 students, a number chosen to represent those lost in Dec. 14 shooting rampage in the small Connecticut town, will perform in the pregame show.

A group of children from Sandy Hook Elementary School -- the site of deadly shooting rampage Dec. 14 -- are about to take the spotlight at one of the nation's biggest televised events: Super Bowl XLVIII.

A chorus of 26 students -- a number chosen to represent those lost in the attack -- will sing "America the Beautiful" alongside singer/actress Jennifer Hudson, according to the Hartford Courant.

The NFL is paying for the kids to stay in a New Orleans-area hotel this weekend. And the children will receive a prominent place in the evening's festivities.

NFL official Brian McCarthy told the Courant, "The way it flows is, we will have 'America the Beautiful,' then the National Anthem, and then it's the coin toss, and then kick."
