Rain, Thunder Are on Way

Coastal areas could get about a quarter inch, while mountains could see twice that.

A change is in the air, and it could be a little wet. The National Weather Service predicts a 20 percent chance of showers Wednesday and a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night.

The odds are even better for rain throughout Thursday, when thunderstorms are likely—a 70 percent chance during the day, and 60 percent at night.

There's a slight chance of showers on Friday, with Friday night being partly cloudy and Saturday being sunny.

The NWS released a weather statement for Orange County on Tuesday night, claiming a low pressure system off the Central California coast will move through Southwest California beginning late Tuesday through early Friday. Numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected, with the bulk of showers on Thursday.

Although precipitation amounts may vary, look for a quarter inch near the coast to a half inch in the mountains for Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
