By Mark Maley

Powerball results were watched closely Wednesday when the jackpot was $363 million. After no one picked all six winning numbers, the new Powerball prize for the Saturday, May 18, drawing is now $600 million, which makes it the highest Powerball jackpot ever — and the second-highest U.S. lottery jackpot.

Powerball By the Numbers:

  • $600 Million: Estimated jackpot
  • $376.9 Million: The amount a winner would receive if they chose a lump sum rather than a 30-year payment
  • $94.2 Million: Estimated federal taxes on the lump sum
  • 1 in 175,223, 510: Chances of winning Saturday’s jackpot
