Los Al Chamber to Hold 31st Annual Golf Tourney Monday

Sign-in begins at 10:30 a.m. at the El Dorado Country Club.

Some local business-types will dust off their clubs next week.

The 31st annual Silver Cup Challenge Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce, begins Monday.

The event includes 18 rounds of golf, on-course contests and prize bags at the El Dorado Country Club at 2400 Studebaker Road, Long Beach.

According to organizers, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Casa Youth Shelter. Sponsorship opportunities are available for $3,000, $2,000, $1,000, $800 and individuals can golf for $155.

It’s $30 for those who want to only want to attend the dinner and the awards banquet.

 “The golf tournament is a wonderful opportunity for people to socialize and network with people in our community ,” said Chelsi Wilson, an executive assistant at the Chamber. “And it’s an opportunity to support our chamber.”

The deadline to apply is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the event.

1:00 p.m. Shotgun start
5:30 p.m. Cocktails, dinner and awards. The dinner ceremony will include

  • Opportunity Drawings, Live Auction
  • Presentation of Contest and Team Awards
  • Awarding of Silver Cup

Event sponsors include Ganahl lumber, the Gardens casino, Gemini Forest Products, Care Ambulance Services, Southern California Gas Company, Timken, Southland Credit Union and Arrowhead Products.
