Join Patch for Freebies at Today's Final Free Summer Concert at the Beach

What better way to celebrate the first day of school than to enjoy friends, music and food at this summer's last free concert at the beach.

The calendar may say it’s summer.

The thermometer, may finally say it’s summer.

But two events today mark the end of the summer in Los Alamitos, Rossmoor and Seal Beach: Thousands of students will hoist their backpacks and head back to school in the Los Alamitos Unified School District today, and the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce will host the final free concert of the summer at Eisenhower Park at the base of the pier.

As for the students, we hope this is one of the best school years ever. Freshman, don’t worry: getting lost between your locker and homeroom on the first day of school is an American rite of passage.

As for the music and beach lovers, Patch will be there with you for one last hurrah: a performance by L.A.vation – a U2 tribute band. The final in the chamber’s free concert series promises to be a big one, with good music, good people, and good food. We’ll be giving away water, soda, candy and Patch swag at the Patch tent, so please drop by and pick up some goodies, meet the Patch staff and tell us what you want to see on your Patch page.

The concert starts at 6 p.m. at Eisenhower Park at the corner of Main Street and Ocean Avenue.
