It'll Be a Sunny, Hot Holiday Weekend

Break out the BBQ and pool toys for a hot Independence Day weekend.

Temperatures are expected to soar for the holiday weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, highs in Los Alamitos will reach 89 degrees today, cooling only slightly to 86 on Independence Day. In Seal Beach, the weather won’t be sweltering, with highs of 84, but the weekend will still be warmer than all of June.

The much warmer air is part of a strong ridge of high pressure that has built up over Southern California, according to a special weather statement issued by the National Weather Service. Those conditions are expected to continue throughout the Fourth of July weekend.
