A local historical society thinks it's not too early to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
The Picnic at the St. Isidore Historical Plaza will return Thursday, along with its wine and beer garden, organizers said.
From 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., attendees will celebrate Saint Patrick's Day at 10961 Reagan Street, according to Anita Schommer, St. Isidore's public director.
Organizers plan to create an "Irish Pub atmosphere" with some volunteers wearing kilts and serving Irish Coffee.
The Irish Band "Trooper Thorn" will provide music. Frank Garcia will serve his award-winning corned beef tacos.
Food trucks will show up too, but they'll be parked in the plaza's parking lot, not the usual location in the neighboring U.S. Bank parking lot, Schommer said. There's no word on which trucks will be there.
The Picnic at The Plaza is a longtime Thursday night fundraiser aimed at saving St. Isidore from demolition.
