How Many Foreclosure Homes are in Seal Beach?

May numbers are down compared to April and April 2012.

The number of homes in Seal Beach that received a foreclosure filing in May went down 33 percent from April and down 71 percent from April 2012.  

That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 21 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Seal Beach , a total of 148 homes listed for sale, and 153 recently sold.

About 63 foreclosure homes were sold in April and about 89 in the previous year. The company reported it had no data on the average price of foreclosed home in the city.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $699,000 which had risen about 14 percent from April 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Seal Beach in Seal Beach 16 percent from the previous month and up 31 percent from the year before.

The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 838,400 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,680 have been vacated by their owners.
