How Many Foreclosure Homes are in Los Alamitos and Rossmoor?

And how much are they selling for?

The number of foreclosure homes in Los Alamitos and Rossmoor is down 75 percent over last year, and they're selling for an average of $18,000 less than non-foreclosure houses.

That's according to a report released Thursday from Realty Trac, which shows 46 homes in some sort of foreclosure in Los Alamitos, a total of 75 homes listed for sale, and 156 recently sold.

The median sale price for foreclosure homes was $710,000 in April. That was 10 percent higher than April 2012.

The median sale price for non-foreclosure houses was $728,000 which had fallen about $2,000 percent from a year before.

In May, the number of properties that have received a foreclosure filing in Los Alamitos and Rossmoor was 57 percent lower than in April and down 75 percent from May 2012.

Overall, homes sales in Los Alamitos and Rossmoor in April were up 7 percent from the previous month and down 16 percent from the year before.

The figures were part of a national report released by Realty Trac that showed there are 838,400 foreclosure homes in the United States. Of those, 167,680 have been vacated by their owners.
