Coyote Attacks Dog Near Catalina Avenue

Also in local crime calls, a trio offering to fix door dents may be scam artists.

Editor's Note: The following crime calls were made to the Seal Beach Police Department and listed on the SBPD dispatch log. 

COYOTE ATTACK

  • 06/22/2013 — 7:38 a.m. — Catalina Avenue —A coyote jumped over a fence near Catalina Avenue and attacked the caller’s dog at about 6:30 a.m. Dispatchers forwarded the information to Long Beach Animal Care Services.

  • 06/22/2013 — 4:35 p.m. — A man said someone in a boat allegedly threatened him. The caller was admitted to the hospital for stress related to the threat and wanted to contact an officer, give the person who threatened him the hospital bill and demand he pay. Dispatchers note that the incident was a civil issue, not a crime.

THROWN OBJECT

  • 06/22/2013 — 6:32 p.m. — Seal Beach and Westminster Boulevard — Someone in a White Acura threw something at the caller’s Gray Nissan Versa and then allegedly tried to run the caller off the road.

  • 06/22/2013 — 6:47 p.m. — Seal Beach Boulevard —A man said he witnessed what he thought might be a scam in the parking lot: three men selling dent repair services. The man said he was concerned because someone he knew paid them and they allegedly never fixed anything.

DRUNK DRIVER

  • 06/22/2013 — 7:16 p.m. — Adolfo Lopez and Seal Beach Boulevard — A Red BMW heading south bound on Seal Beach Boulevard was driving “extremely fast” and swerving between lanes, a caller said.
