The sale of the Crystal Cathedral and its almost 31-acre campus to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange has been closed, it was announced today.
Escrow proceedings have ended, and formal transfer to the Diocese has
been made, the Diocese reported in a statement.
Athough the complicated acquisition process is over, the Diocese's takeover of the campus and its use of the cathedral won't be immediate.
Under the agreement. Crystal Cathedral Ministries may continue to use the church and other campus structures for up to three years.
County'sTransfer of the site's memorial gardens to the Diocese will be immediate. a diocesan pastoral center will be established on the site in the anticipation that the nearby Saint Callistus parish eventually will transfer to the campus.
