Cooling Trend To Bring Cool Weekend Weather

Weekend temperatures to be 20 degrees cooler than last weekend.

The beach weather was nice while it lasted, but it’s on its way out, according to the National Weather Service.

The warming trend that brought 90-degree weather to Southern California over the last week has passed, and increased cloud cover and fog will bring steadily cooler temperatures throughout the next week, according to the weather service.

The last week saw daily temperatures in the 80s in Seal Beach, Rossmoor and Los Alamitos along with hot winds that stoked wildfires in the wetlands at PCH and Second Street and on Catalina. On Thursday, local temperatures are expected to hover in the 70s, reaching 79 in Los Alamitos and 74 in Seal Beach. After Thursday, local highs are expected to drop to the mid 60s through the weekend with overnight fog, low cloud cover and a slight chance of drizzle Sunday evening.
