Chance of Rain Today with a Sunny Outlook for Christmas

The low pressure system that brought clouds and scattered showers is expected to move out tomorrow.

The dark gray sky has been threatening rain all morning. According to the National Weather Service, there is just a 20 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and night.

However, the rest of the week is expected to bring sunny skies and slightly warmer weather with highs in the low 60s and steadily climbing through the week. Christmas in Seal Beach and Los Alamitos is likely to be sunny with a high of 71 degrees.

``It looks like the low pressure system is moving out, and by Friday we will have a nice high pressure flow,'' said NWS weather specialist Stuart Seto.

``That means a nice warming trend will set up Friday,'' Seto said.

Christmas travelers will not have any bad weather in the next week in California, according the statewide outlook.

And what about the Rose Parade and football game, on Jan. 2?

``Oh, that's way too far ahead for us,'' Seto laughed. ``But it hardly
ever rains on that parade.''
