Boomer On the Loose: Election Day --Finally!

At last, it's time to vote! Cheryl talks about how politicians love to talk. And how glad she is to end this campaign at last.

So glad I've already mailed my ballot for Obama.  At least with him, you sort of know what he'd do.  With Mitch R, he changes his opinion as much as his secret Mormon underwear.

This campaign has been going on about three years now.  I'm so sick of these politicians.  Are they sick of themselves, too?

What kind of a person wants to be in politics, I wonder?  To me, the worst part of my job was the endless meetings.  When I first started teaching, we'd have a meeting on the first and last days of school, and maybe a few English Department meetings occasionally during the year.   My last years of work, we had meetings at least weekly, with one a week on a day we sent the kids home early.  The worst was when the new principal insisted we go to one ALL-DAY meeting a month, at an off-campus restaurant,  so we had to get a sub for our classes.  What a waste of money and time! Politics is for the meeting-lover, I guess.

I digress.

We're lucky to vote, and I hope everyone does.  Even we Californians, whose vote is usually meaningless by the time we cast it.
