With a Petal, Pop, Stitch and a Feather, a Dynasty Is Born

With TankFarm, the recent opening of Stitch and Feather and the upcoming opening of Petal and Pop, one local family is leaving its unique stamp on Main Street.

A burgeoning Seal Beach Family dynasty is continuing to grow with the opening of Theresa Anderson’s new floral and gift shop, Petal and Pop this week.

Theresa is married to John Anderson, who founded TankFarm with his brother, Mike. Mike, in turn, is married to Candi Anderson who opened Stitch and Feather in June on Main Street across from TankFarm.

Stitch and Feather brings a unique assortment of vintage and bohemian inspired knick-knacks, greeting cards, gift items, as well as women’s clothing, to Seal Beach in the space once occupied by Dottie’s Consignment shop.

TankFarm opened its doors last December, and will have Petal and Pop in the location right next door. Theresa said she has done a lot of work for wedding clients in the past and will also carry hand-crafted, preservative free chocolates.

"We are a floral, garden and home good shop," she said.

TankFarm and Stitch and Feather feature strong themes of the California luxury lifestyle, according to Mike.

“Tankfarm is inspired by vintage-Americana, as well as American-heritage style,” he said. “Both aim to nail down that sort of Cali’ lifestyle—U.S.A. made.”

Which is something we can expect to see from Theresa's new floral and gift shop, Petal and Pop.

“We like to work with family and keep it tight,” Mike said.
