Sno-Biggie Settling in at Los Alamitos

The owner says the dessert shop loves their new spot on Los Alamitos Boulevard.

If you're missing the icy treats from a certain Seal Beach snow ice biz, Sno Biggie has moved to Los Alamitos.

“But Patch,” we hear you say, “that happened at least two months ago.”

To that we say … Oh, Crud. We missed it.

Well our bad, but here's an update -- the store’s general manager JoAnna Buday said she loves the new spot at 10670 Los Alamitos Boulevard.

In early October, they moved from original location in Seal Beach – where they started in 2010 -- and held their grand opening  Oct. 23. Their official second anniversary was Nov. 5.

“We’re on Los al Boulevard and we love it.” Buday said. “We have room for entire soccer teams to come in after a game and have a seat and chair and table and stay inside. “

According to Buday, they serve sno-balls – a mixture of ice cream and flavored shaved ice -- originating out of New Orleans, and she’s kept true to that style.

Why'd they move to Los Al?

A number of reasons, but one is that it's nearer to a lot of their customers -- students.

“Mainly, the school (Los Alamitos High School) is so much closer to us, and the store is larger, and the rent was less,” Buday said.

The location is the former site of Quinn's Ice Cream according to Buday.

Buday adds that her favorite flavor is strawberry shortcake.

The businesses is open Mon - Thu: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday-through Saturday 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
