The Dollar Tree will open a new store in Seal Beach Sunday, the latest branch of the chain’s growth plans with 315 new stores set to open this year.
The 13,182 square-foot discount store starts business Sept. 8th at the Seal Beach Village shopping center on Seal Beach Boulevard south of Leisure World.
The store will also hold a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony 9 a.m. Sept. 15, according to Shelle Davis, Dollar Tree, Inc. spokeswoman. Davis said the mayor and other city officials are scheduled to attend, and the event may include a raffle, giveaways and music.
The business will bring about 15 new jobs to the city, “mostly part-time but some permanent full-time” positions, Davis said.
“The store is very excited to be coming to Seal Beach,” Davis said. “We’re excited to be part of the community.”
Though the operating hours of the average Dollar Tree vary, they are generally open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This year, Davis said, the company is planning to open about 315 stores in America and Canada.

The company estimates it made between $7.36 billion to $7.45 billion from June 30 2011 to July 31, 2012.
