Homes in Los Alamitos and Rossmoor ain’t cheap.

The 90720 zip code made it into Forbes' annual list of America's most expensive ZIP codes released last month.

The zip code, which includes Rossmoor and Los Alamitos, was the 403th most expensive in the nation.

According to the magazine's analysis, the median home price during the survey period in Los Alamitos was $733,048, a 0.4 percent increase over last year.

A Los Al home, on average, remains on the market in that area of the city for 97 days, and at the time of the survey, there were 71 properties listed.

Other Orange County zip codes made the list too including Newport Coast, which ranked highest at No. 25, followed by Newport Beach's 92662 at No. 49, Corona del Mar at No. 52 and Newport Beach's 92661 at No. 65.

Isn't Rossmoor a sister "city" to Celebration, Florida?

403rd--that is considered high? Pertaining to the question of "sister" city, Rossmoor is not a city. It may share the same zip as Los Alamitos, Ca but is not a city and uses police and fire services from Orange County. That is, it does not directly pay taxes like a city would for those services so it leaves it up to the cities within that county to pay for it instead.

Hi Enea. Celebration is unincorporated, too, and the quotes around "city" were meant to indicate that.
But mainly it was a bit of good-natured teasing (you guys are "rich", you can afford it ;-)

I don't live there but in Seal Beach, where real estate too is high, esp on the beach, naturally. Rich? I guess compared to slums we are, lol!

Any guesses why Seal Beach's zip code didn't make it onto Forbes' 500 list?

Paige - Regarding Seal Beach - perhaps Leisure World impacts the zip code too greatly.

If Rossmoor had been allowed to stand on its own and not with the City of Los Alamitos, it would have been much higher than 403rd.

I think Mr. Hill nailed the cause cuz Leisure World has two council in its borders and real estate is quite low due to more condos than rest. I rely on his guess, considering he delves in realty and knows the market.

This man has a rare quality, courage. Unlike the fool in office and his minions. If you thinkRead More the Constitution is a joke, you see him as bad. If you want to be spied on by your own government, Snowden is bad. Courage is missing in the states. The military have it but not the majority of our mediocre citizens.
