Local Gas Prices Fall Slowly But Surely

Gas prices are falling ― not as quickly as they peaked. But a steady downward trend is providing OC commuters some relief at the pump.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County decreased today for the 14th consecutive day, falling 1.3 cents to $4.443.

It has fallen 24.7 cents over the past 14 days, including 3 cents on Sunday, after rising 51.3 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.69.

The Orange County average price is 17 cents less than one week ago, but 32.2 cents more than one month ago and 57.9 cents higher than one year ago.
