A former Seal Beach record store has started a new solo career in Santa Ana.
Left of the Dial, the local music shop that lived in Seal Beach for the last two years before stopping off in Los Al for one month, held it’s grand opening Saturday at 320 French St, Suite 1.
Owner Geoff Leamon said that the new spot in the city’s Arts District is “awesome” and that the “community has welcomed us with open arms.”
“They (the property owner) wanted a record store, and they’re a really up and coming arts district,” Leamon said. “It was just a good fit for us.”
Leamon said, “The store has much more of a record store feel now.”
Leamon said he hopes his former customers will make the trek to the new spot.
“Nothing’s changed,” Leamon said. “Yeah, it’s a bit of a drive, but we’re still going to have hard-to-find records at good prices and excellent customer service.
According to Leamon, cost was one of the reasons for leaving Seal Beach
“It just got too expensive for us.,” he said. “It wasn’t just our rent.”
He added, “It’s too much of a struggle trying to make it work in Seal beach.”
The store hours are Tuesday through Thursday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday through Saturday 12 p.m. - 9 p.m.
