Leap Day is the day for new beginnings in Seal Beach and Los Alamitos.
Today is the Grand Opening for the Fresh & Easy on PCH in Seal Beach and the new Wound Healing & Hyperbarics facility at the Los Alamitos Medical Center.
At Fresh & Easy, the doors will open at the new store at 8 a.m., but a Grand Opening ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. At the ceremony, the company will donate a $1,000 check to the Seal Beach Animal Care Center, and the store will be giving away a free canvas tote back with purchases of $10 or more throughout the day.
The 4,320-square-foot grocery store is a pilot concept for the British chain. Known as Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, it’s smaller than the typical grocery store so that it can fit into denser, established neighborhoods such as Old Town Seal Beach.
A self-check-out store, Fresh & Easy markets itself as a low-cost option for healthy living, offering Fresh & Easy brand products that contain no added trans fats and no artificial colors or flavors. The new store is at 800 Pacific Coast Highway
Later, at 4:30 p.m., the will host a grand opening for its new Wound Healing & Hyperbarics facility for treating difficult to heal wounds such as bedsores or burns. Hospital officials hail the facility for breaking state-of-the-art treatment options to the community. The Los Alamitos Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Visitors can explore the new center and meet with the medical director and staff.
