Gas Prices Inch Down For Thanksgiving Travel

The average cost of a gallon of gas is dropping by about a penny a day, locally just in time for the holiday travel.

The average price of a gallon of gas in Orange County fell for the 10th consecutive day, dropping 1.2 cents to $3.763.

The Orange County average price is 6.4 cents less than one week ago and 10.9 cents lower than a month ago but 62 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped 7.8 cents over the past 10
days, including 1.1 cents Saturday.

``Southern California gas prices averages have remained above $3.75 a
gallon in most areas since the end of August,'' said Jeffrey Spring of the
Automobile Club of Southern California. ``Heading into Thanksgiving week, at least so far we are continuing to see daily price declines.''
