Gas Prices Finally Lower Than This Time Last Year

The average cost of gas has dropped for the 34th straight in Orange County, and here are the cheapest stations in Los Alamitos and Seal Beach.

For the first time all year, the average price of gas in Orange County is lower than it was at the same time last year, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Orange County declined today for the 34th consecutive day, but barely, as the average price decreased one-tenth of a cent to $4.155, its lowest amount since Feb. 22.

The Orange County average price is 2.8 cents less than a week ago, 18.3 cents lower than one month ago and 7.1 cents below what it was one year ago. It has decreased 19 cents over the past 34 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Saturday.
The declining pump prices stem from a steep decrease to the wholesale gasoline price, said Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
