Borders Plans to Close Nearby Store
The book retailer expects to close location in Rolling Hills Estates.
Plans to close nearly one third of Borders Group stores will impact neighboring stores in Long Beach and Orange County.
Two hundred stores nationwide will be closed, according to a court filing in Border's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case.
Nationwide, the company has 659 stores.

In a statement, the nation's second-largest book-retailer said moves were being made, "in light of the environment of curtailed customer spending, our ongoing discussions with publishers and other vendor related parties, and the company's lack of liquidity."
Orange County stores slated for closure include ones in Orange, Yorba Linda and Tustin. There are three in the city of Los Angeles slated for closure along with stores in Long Beach, Glendale, Cerritos, Pasadena, Valencia, and Pico Rivera.
