OC's First Adalberto's Mexican Food Opens in Los Al

The California-based restaurant chain opens this week at the corner of Katella and Noel.

We here at Patch think there are two things you can never have enough of: 1) local news and 2) Mexican food.

When we get a chance to mix both together, we're pretty happy.

So, guess why were smiling?

Los Alamitos has a new Mexican restaurant.

Adalberto’s Mexican Food opened its first Orange County eatery this week at 4240 Katella Ave. Manager Peter Huerta, a Santa Ana resident, said Wednesday’s grand opening was “packed” and it’s still busy.

Apparently, word has gotten around because, by Thursday afternoon, the drive-thru was constantly full.

“We’re excited to be here for everybody in the community,” Huerta said before heading to the grill.

The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Sunday 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. according to Huerta.

Huerta said to ignore the “24 Hour Drive Thru”  notice on the menu. For more information about the restaurant, call 562-430-7702.

According to the chain's Facebook page, the chain has 11 other locations in California, including Stockton, Sacramento and San Diego, and has been open since 1994.

If they really want to bring some good Mexican food back to this area they should bring back Naugles! My brother Artie managed one of those in Westminster for awhile. Those Macho egg burrito's late at night after you'd been drinking all evening were to die for! He got fired from there and ended up managing a Pup-N-Taco. Not as good but OK.

We are ruining this country for our children and leaving the biggest mess ever... Kudos to Snowden..... You gave up everything to be honest and tell it like it is!!!

This man has a rare quality, courage. Unlike the fool in office and his minions. If you thinkRead More the Constitution is a joke, you see him as bad. If you want to be spied on by your own government, Snowden is bad. Courage is missing in the states. The military have it but not the majority of our mediocre citizens.
