The National Weather Service issued new weather warnings for Sunday and Monday because of strong winds and low humidity.

The National Weather Service issued new wind and fire warnings for Sunday and Monday as another low-pressure system moves in from Arizona to bring heavy winds and low humidity.

Authorities have raised the fire threat level to critical with humidity levels as low as 10 percent and wind gusts reaching 60 miles per hour in the canyons and passes. At the same time, overnight lows will get close to freezing in parts of the county.

The strong winds are expected to last through Monday, slowing down Tuesday morning but picking up again Wednesday and Thursday, warned the National Weather Service.
