This week crews are working at night (between 10 p.m. and5 a.m.) to realign the Seal Beach Boulevard on-ramp to the northbound 405 freeway. The location of the on-ramp will not change. It is just being realigned to accommodate the additional carpool lane on the northbound 405 freeway.

Reconstruction activities on the Seal Beach Boulevard bridge are currently scheduled to begin in August 2012. An exact date is not yet available, however, the contractor will have completed work on the Valley View Street bridge before they begin work at Seal Beach Boulevard. The Seal Beach Boulevard bridge will be reconstructed one half at a time just like Valley View Street. During the first 11 months of construction, the bridge (only the portion over the 405 freeway) will be reduced to northbound one lane and southbound one lane  including a center median dedicated only for emergency services vehicles.

Intermittent daytime pile driving activities for the 405 / 605 carpool connector are ongoing and will continue for the next several months. The current operation is taking place in the center of the 405 freeway between the Rossmoor and College Park West communities. Pile driving will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to vibration and pounding.

There will be a 55-hour weekend closure of the northbound I-405 / northbound I-605 connector over two consecutive weekends in September. Although exact dates are not yet available, more information will be provided as the date nears.
