Hurricane Fabio Fizzles, But Is Storm in Store?

Lightning might strike twice with rare July rain and thunderstorms as there is another chance for storms this week.

Hurricane Fabio fizzled off the coast of Baja California Monday, but forecasters predict its remnants could bring dangerous surf conditions, rip tides and a lsight chance of thunderstorms.

Swells from the former hurricane known as Fabio are expected to bring 3-foot swells to Seal Beach Tuesday.

By Wednesday night, unstable weather conditions are expected to bring a 20 percent chance of rain, lightening and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of rain and thunderstorms will continue into Thursday, weather service forecasters predict. Forecasters predicted a 20 percent chance of rain last week as well, and Long Beach Airport ended up with record rainfall.
