Forest Fees Waived in Honor of MLK Holiday

Trailhead fees at Southern California's National Forests will be waived in honor of the national holiday.

In honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, the Angeles National Forest and other national forests around Southern California will waive fees at trailheads and U.S. Forest Service-managed day-use sites.

``To honor a great champion of civil rights, the normally required National Forest Adventure Pass will be waived this weekend. We are working to ensure as many visitors as possible can experience the numerous recreational opportunities the Angeles National Forest  has to offer,'' said Forest Supervisor Thomas A. Contreras.

Though the pass fee has been waived for today through Monday, campground, reservation, group-site and concession fees may still be in effect.
