Over the course of a major , closure and detour notices can start to seem like white noise. However, there are some closures that merit special attention because they are bound to cause commuter headaches for those who ignore them. This weekend’s 55-hour closure of the San Gabriel (605) Freeway / San Diego (405) Freeway connector kicks off a series of such closures.
The southbound 605 / northbound 405 connector will be closed for 55-hours, from 10 p.m. Friday, until 5 a.m. Monday. This closure is necessary to allow crews to realign the connector to accommodate the upcoming widening of the 605 Freeway.
OCTA RECOMMENDED DETOUR: From the southbound I-605 Freeway, exit Willow Street and turn right, proceed west on Willow Street, turn left onto Studebaker Road, continue south on Studebaker Road to access the northbound I-405 freeway on-ramp
