Northbound 405 to Close Completely Thursday Night
Construction crews will close the northbound lanes in Seal Beach tonight instead of the ongoing southbound nightly closures.
The northbound San Diego (405) Freeway will shut down completely tonight in Seal Beach to complete grading work on the 7th Street Bridge.
The closure will last between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Seal Beach Boulevard and the San Gabriel (605) Freeway. Because of the northbound closure, the regularly scheduled southbound freeway closure has been cancelled.
The southbound side of the freeway has been closed nightly in Seal Beach for weeks as part of a scheduled closure to construct the falsework for the upcoming reconstruction of the Seal Beach Boulevard Bridge.

Northbound Detours
- From the northbound I-405, exit Westminster Avenue, turn left on Westminster Avenue and proceed west, turn right on Studebaker Road and continue north to access the northbound I-405 on-ramp
- From the northbound I-405, exit Westminster Avenue, turn left on Westminster Avenue and proceed west, turn right on Seal Beach Boulevard / Los Alamitos Boulevard and continue north, turn left on Katella Avenue to access the I-605 freeway
