You Be the TV Guide

Los Al TV is seeking viewer input to help revamp the station's programming.

Los Al TV is looking to shake up its programming based on the likes and dislikes of local residents.

The cable television station has put together an 11-question online survey for community residents on its website.

The point of the survey is to understand what viewers are looking for and what kind of technology they are using so that the station can adapt its programs.

The station is available to viewers in Los Alamitos and Rossmoor and in neighboring communities on both Time-Warner and Verizon. Los Al TV features local programming that ranges from City Council coverage to Los Alamitos High School sports to community celebrations.

“Even only five years ago, Los Al TV was the only game in town for local video,” Station General Manager Larry Strawther, said in a written statement.  “But with the rapid advances in digital technology and the explosion of YouTube and numerous other online video sites, local residents can now view local-based video at many other sites besides Channel 3 on your cable box.”

Because many people watch TV via the Internet, the station is looking at developing its online presence, added Strawther.

“Certain new equipment will have to be purchased, but to spend our money wisely, it is first necessary to see who is watching Los Al TV, what they watch and would like to watch, and how they watch,” he added.
