MOMIX: Botanica at CSULB's Carpenter Performing Arts Center

Defying categorization just as its dancers defy gravity, Moses Pendleton’s company of dancer-illusionists is celebrated around the world for its ability to conjure enthralling images using light, shadow, props, and the boundless invention of the human body. Widely hailed as their hottest show yet, Botanica traffics in the tension between illusion and reality, following the rhythms of the seasons, but also the evolution of the world and the passing of a day. To a score that includes Vivaldi’s "Four Seasons", flowers bloom, go to seed and die; vegetable, animal and mineral—all in human form—combine and metamorphose in spectacular moving tableaux creating a total dance theatre environment.
