Video: Opening Night of the Friday Night Lights Season

Hundreds of football players, cheerleaders and parents came out to kick off the season.

Hundreds of young football players, cheerleaders and parents braved the cold and the rainy forecast for opening night of the Friday Night Lights spring season.

From kindergarten through eighth-grade, players gathered at Oak field to kick off the popular flag football season. Named after the 2004 movie and 2006 television spin-off series, the league is the brainchild of Rossmoor residents Mark Broersma and Chris Ketcham.
