Toppled Tree Squashes Red Mustang

No one was hurt when a large Seal Beach tree fell over this week.

No one buys a red Mustang without first dreaming about owning a red Mustang. So, needless to say, it was a very bad day for someone Sunday when this large tree on Hazlenut Avenue in College Park East toppled in the wind and fell upon a parked red Mustang.

It wasn’t a great day for the city either.

In the days leading up to the incident, Seal Beach Public Work crews had been working around the tree, laying new cement for the sidewalk as part of an ongoing project to improve sidewalks in the neighborhood. Seal Beach Public Works Director Sean Crumby said he could not comment on the incident.

According to the Seal Beach Police Report, it was a good–sized tree with a trunk about two ½ feet wide and a canopy about 12 feet-wide. Hazelnut Avenue had to be closed while crews worked to remove the tree. No one was injured in the incident.
