This White Rose Is Ready to Plant Roots

With a little love, Rosie, the husky mix, is sure to bloom.

Editor’s Note: The Dog of the Week feature was written by volunteer Maureen Pearson and submitted by Sharman Snow, also a volunteer at the Seal Beach Animal Care Center where the animals are available for adoption. The shelter is at 1700 Adolfo Lopez Drive, Seal Beach, 562-430-4993.

A beautiful white Husky mix, Rosie was found wandering the streets with her companion, Chase. When Chase was adopted and Rosie was left behind, she became a changed dog. He was her security blanket in an insecure world.

Those at the shelter who have bonded with Rosie have found her to be a devoted, loving and sometimes comical dog. As one volunteer says, “Rosie is more like a princess than a dog and even enjoys being hand-fed (perhaps with a silver spoon).”

She enjoys long walks, car rides and hunting for the rabbits and lizards that surround our shelter. Sunning herself is a favorite pastime, and she loves toys and playing tug-of-war.

Rosie has had a lot of thorns in her life. Given the chance to be your friend, the word “rosebud” will take on a whole new meaning.
