East Long Beach Man Dies From West Nile Virus:The death of an eastern Long Beach man was confirmed Monday as the city's first fatality due to West Nile virus since 2004. According to Long Beach Health Officer Mitchell Kushner, the man was in his 70s and was hospitalized in October.

No More Unlimited Parking in Los Alamitos' Laurel Park: The Los Alamitos City Council on Monday adopted an urgency ordinance that now limits parking at Laurel Park's 24 parking spaces to only three hours. According to the city, construction activity at the adjacent Los Alamitos Medical Center has resulted in a full parking lot at almost all hours of the day, which has prevented residents from using the park's facilities.
