The Life of Riley: Cuddles and Wonders

With his wagging tail and penchant for play, this little dog will bring joy where ever he goes.

Editor’s Note: The Dog of the Week feature was submitted by Sharman Snow, a volunteer at the Seal Beach Animal Care Center where the animals are available for adoption. The shelter is at 1700 Adolfo Lopez Drive, Seal Beach, 562-430-4993.

This little white Chihuahua mix is a bundle of joy. His tail never seems to stop wagging. He came to Seal Beach Animal Care Center as a very young dog with two older companions. Both of his companions have left for their forever homes and Riley is still waiting for it to be his turn.

If Riley were a human child, he would be described as a freckle faced sunburned nose boy with a couple of frogs in his pocket. He is full of energy and will create his own fun. He loves sticks and pinecones and leaves and even rocks if he can carry them in his mouth. He appears to be the kind of dog that will go get his own leash when he wants to take a walk.

When Riley is in the play yard and sees a volunteer he is fond of, he will jump on top of the doghouse to talk you into coming over to see him. He loves his walks, car rides and especially loves his puppy cuddles. He has spent his puppy months at the center but can never get enough puppy cuddles.

Riley is great with other dogs, and his walks are filled with fun. He is so curious about the world and always finds something that amazes him and peeks his interest. We are certain that the lucky family who Riley chooses to go home with will enjoy his loyalty for years to come.
