Slideshow: Yummy Los Alamitos

Thursday was the inaugural food truck fair in Los Alamitos.

About 200 people turned out Thursday for the in Los Alamitos. Aimed at bringing together community and gourmet food, the event included eight gourmet food trucks specializing in everything from cupcakes to po-boys.

The gathering took place in the U.S. Bank parking lot on Pine Street and the St Isidore Historic Plaza provided a seating area. This week’s participating trucks included Cajun on Wheels, Fresh Fries LA, the Flip Truck, Rancho A Go Go, Swinging Kitchen, Twist Burgers, Oh for Sweet’s Sake, and My Tornado Potato.

If the event is a hit, organizer Chris Pili and community leaders hope to turn it into a street fair or farmers’ market by closing off Pine Street and inviting vendors and community groups to participate.
