Seal Beach Flashback: Walking a Sea Lion on the Beach

As many have learned in the past week, Seal Beach is no stranger to unique pets and a photo recently posted online shows just that.
The historic photo, taken in 1922, depicts a woman standing near the Seal Beach Pier walking a California Sea Lion on a leash and harness.
While marine mammal protection laws would certainly get this woman in trouble in 2013, the photo offers a unique glimpse into Seal Beach's past.
The photo also recently appeared on KCET's website entitled "From Seal Beach to the 'Surf City' Pier." The photo is credited to the Los Angeles Public Library.
